The Taliban hanged the bodies of four people in public places. The killers were shot dead by police in the city of Herat, police said.
An unnamed Taliban soldier told the Associated Press that they were doing so for the purpose of warning various perpetrators.
The Taliban on Friday had warned that the amputation of the limbs, including handcuffs, and the death penalty for various offenders could be returned to the country.
The U.S. Department of State has said that if the Taliban returned to the 1990s, they would be violating human rights.
They responded to the ministry by saying: “No one will allow us to tell us the rules we must apply. We will adhere to Islam and establish our own laws. ”
